Hokkien Gao Jia Opera Excerpt "Three Thousand Taels of Gold"

Miko had justed posted a video of her troupe (Liyuan opera) rehearsing the part on "Three Thousand Taels of Gold" (from the show "Li Yaxian") in her blog, and now I shall post the Gaojia opera version of it up as well.

This version here is performed by Wu Jingjing of Xiamen Jin Lian Sheng Gaojia Opera Troupe. The singing aria for the main role in this excerpt, Zheng Yuanhe, is the same for both opera genres, with a slight difference in some wordings. However, as this excerpt here is intended to be performed as a standalone excerpt with little connection to the original show, it has been re-choreographed, and therefore those who are familiar with the Liyuan opera version of this excerpt may find this version a bit unfamiliar.

my god... i like it leh.. can u send me??? I want to keep it to xin shang when i free. :D

Also, the speed is faster than our version. The lyrics got many parts different, not only the gong ming and feng liu. I saw many many differences. Maybe they want to distinguish themselves even though they are performing a same show as lyx ba,

but i want to add on, their speed is much fast and hence the sad feeling of zhang yuan he is not so strong. Our version's zheng yuan he expressed his upset better.

I do not have the original video, because this is uploaded by a member of the troupe. Yes the tempo is faster and the feel is not quite the same like LYX, but I feel that this clip was meant to perform as an individual show, so the emphasis is on the overall feel and not solely on Zheng Yuanhe. In that case they can't have the music too slow or else the clowns will have problem doing their actions too. In a sense, they might be trying to use the comical actions of the clown to create a contrast to Zheng Yuanhe's inner emotions

hmm ya, that might be the case but in this case then the focus will be the beggars more. For this song actually the focus is quite balanced between the 2 parties but now the beggars part is stronger. Aiyah, too bad u dun have the original clip.. My friend is interested in puppet movements of the gaojia clowns, thought I might show him this.
